Two people are in the hospital in stable condition and a Piqua man is in custody following a Monday afternoon shooting in Warren County.

Deputies responded to a report of shots fired into vehicles around 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of Lytle and Ferry roads in Wayne Twp., according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said in a release Monday evening that they had arrested a 31-year-old man from Piqua, who is being held in the Miami County Jail on preliminary charges of felonious assault pending extradition.

The shooting was an isolated incident and there was no further threat to the community, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both victims have received medical treatment and are recovering, the release said.

The investigation is ongoing.
