Hamilton firefighters were able to put out a fire Thursday night at a Texas Roadhouse in Hamilton before it caused severe damage.

The fire started around 8 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse at 1366 Main St.

There were customers and employees inside the restaurant when the fire first started and when flames could be seen coming from the roof of the restaurant.

No one was injured in the fire and the cause remains under investigation.

The Journal-News reported last week that work has started on a new Texas Roadhouse location in front of the Meijer that would replace the current one. The new restaurant was expected to have more space and parking, hiring 25 additional employees.

The new location was not expected to open until September.
